Fab Five Friday!

Interesting week.  We had Scouts, basketball practices, piano lessons, sewing and crafting projects, new year organizing and de-junking, tons of homework, a birthday, and a trip to the ER.  I had to use the bathroom.  Sometimes mommies have to do that, too.  I couldn’t have been in the bathroom for more than a minute.  My little Babesters decided to climb onto the kitchen table.  As soon as I saw him, he took a nosedive off the table and landed right on his face.  It knocked him out and when he came to, he started puking.  Yessiree, my eighteen month old little man has a concussion.  Mother of the Year, right here!  Please tell me I’m not the only one…

Aww…  Poor little noggin.

So, yeah.  Some of these Pinterest pins are from last week.  Sorry!

I saw these New Year’s pancakes and thought that would be a fun breakfast for New Year’s Day.  It was kind of a trial and error thing, but I found that it worked best if I piped the batter onto the griddle with a frosting bag and tip.

My boys loved them.

My oldest turned eleven this week.  I pinned this Hogwarts Acceptance Letter and made him his own:

He loved it!  Now he wants to have a Harry Potter birthday party with his friends.  That is the PERFECT eleven year old birthday party!  Check out my party ideas HERE if you want to.

Next up~

“for children and laundry and rude guests who need to be shown the way out!”

I love it!  It would never work in my house, but it will in my dream home!  :)

Valentine’s Day is coming up.  I have ZERO Valentine’s decorations, but, thanks to this inspiration, I am working on it!

I don’t have a mantle, but I can dress up my piano!  I’ve already made a few things for this project.  I’ll blog all about it when I’m done, savvy?!

And finally:

THIS is why I’m too squishy.  And to think I’ve been blaming it on my five babies and nine pregnancies.  Pssssht.  I’ve got to count all those miscarriages.  They’ve been murder on my waistline, too!  Something else to work on this year!

I know I’ve already done my five pins, but I’ve got one more.  Did you make any New Year’s Resloutions?  I did, and if I don’t write them down, there’s as good as gone.  So here goes:

I read this post over at Blue Cricket Design and decided to do the same thing.  Only different.  I am going to focus on US (the hubs and me) and US (the whole fam).  Good thing I started this year off in the ER with my baby!  ;)

I’m also going to run a marathon with my friend Lindsay.  We’re already signed up, so we’ve got motivation.  I’m going to read the Book of Mormon again, too.

Thanks for letting me ramble and tell you what my New Year’s Resolutions are.  I appreciate it!  Have a great weekend!

  1. a little tip on the butterbeer. Every recipe I looked at had 2-1 ratio on the butterscotch and the cream soda. It was so thick and sweet it was nasty. I ended up using a 6 oz clear plastic tumbler, drizzling enough of the butterscotch to just cover the bottom of the glass and then adding the cream soda. It foams best if the butterscotch is warm. Melt 2 tablespoons of real butter into the butterscotch icecream topping and pour into the glass while it is still warm.
