What I Wore Sunday: Week 23

I survived the hike, in case you were wondering.  It.was.awesome.  It was an incredible experience, and one I’ll never forget.

But, oh man!  I was so sore for a few days after that!

…and here I was thinking I was in pretty good shape…

Oh well.  At least I made it through the entire 22 miles without a blister!

Moving right along…

…52 weeks of shaking up the wardrobe…

The Rules:

  1. Wear a different outfit every Sunday.

  2. Incorporate at least one article of clothing or accessory that was either refashioned, sewn myself, or handmade.

  3. Outfits can be worn more than once; just not the same way.

  4. Think outside the box and be creative.

This is what I wore:

week 23

…and I didn’t love it.  I bought this maxi dress at Wal-Mart last summer.  I love the tiered layers, but I can’t stand how it fits.  I feel like I am wearing a maternity dress.  Are all maxi dresses this way?  Even if they are, I am turning this dress into a skirt as soon as possible.

The only thing I refashioned in this outfit was the white tank.  I added lace to the top.  I realize that I am wearing a sweater in the heat of the Summer, but the room I teach the little kidlets in is always FREEZING!!  Poor babies.  Anyway, that’s why I’m wearing a sweater in July.

…and I’m not wearing this outfit again.  I didn’t like it.  That’s okay, though.  Lesson learned.

We didn’t have as big of a party last week, but that’s okay.  It was still lots of fun.  These are the links we liked best.  I mean, we liked them all, but these are the ones that really popped out to us:

Jacinda at Yellowcloth finished her bridesmaid’s dress.  I love it.  She tweaked the pattern until she liked it, and the end result is fabulous!  Be sure to check it out!

These personalized pillow cases from Peli at A Lovely Mess are just so much fun!  She took some pillowcases from IKEA and added her own touch to them.  So cute!

Have you ever checked out Agape Love Designs?  She has some really fun make up tutorials on her site.  I’ve always been pretty make-up-shy, but her step by step instructions make it easy and fun to try new stuff.  She linked up this cute outfit, but be sure to check out those make up tutorials, too!

Thanks to everyone who partied with us!  Be sure to link up all of your awesomeness in the Fab Friday link party.

…and I’m signing off.  We’ve got an awesome family vacation planned for next week.  Eeek!  10 hours in the car ONE WAY with FIVE KIDS!!!  Wish us luck!  :)
